US Air Force F-16 and F-22 fighters intercepted two Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers in the identification zone of the Alaska air defense system.
According to the press service of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the incident occurred on April 17. E-3 and KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft were also taken into the air.
It is emphasized that the Tu-95 did not enter the sovereign space of Canada and the United States, remaining in international airspace.
