14 members of Congress sent a letter to the administration of US President Joe Biden calling for unblocking deliveries of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This publication reports The New York Times.
“As we have seen due to the initial hesitation of our allies regarding the provision of tanks to Ukraine, US leadership is critical in providing Kiev with additional resources and new capabilities,” the message says.
The authors of the letter believe that the transfer of aviation to Kyiv is necessary in order to end the conflict on “fair terms.”
It is also worth noting that the NYT previously reported that Ukrainian Air Force pilots are not allowed to train on F-16s belonging to European countries because the United States does not want to transfer aviation to Kiev.
