US Border Patrol chief resigns

US Customs and Border Protection chief Chris Magnus has resigned. His statement was received by US President Joe Biden. Magnus spent less than a year in his post. The White House said that “the president is grateful for his work and wishes the ex-official all the best.”
Magnus made the decision to leave office under pressure from the presidential administration. They were unhappy with the influx of migrants on the southern borders.
The inability to solve the problem with migrants is one of the main reproaches that Republicans make against Democrats. This issue has become a stumbling block before the midterm elections. And now Biden needs success in the fight against illegal migration to strengthen his position before the presidential race in 2024.
