US and South Korean air forces conduct exercises after North Korea tests ballistic missile

The air forces of South Korea and the United States held a joint exercise after North Korea conducted a test launch of a ballistic missile the day before, according to Yonhap.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said the exercise demonstrated “the combined defense capabilities of South Korea and the United States.” And all this “thanks to the timely and prompt deployment of enhanced US deterrence on the Korean Peninsula.”
South Korean F-35A and F-15K fighter-bombers were involved, which, along with American F-16s, escorted B-1B bombers. Approximately 10 aircraft flew over the Yellow Sea, the Sea of Japan and over the territory of South Korea.
North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan on Saturday. Later, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the launch of the Hwaseong-15 ICBM was carried out as part of a sudden check of combat readiness.
The rocket flew 989 km in 67 minutes and then fell into the Sea of Japan. The maximum flight altitude was 5.77 thousand km.
