US Air Force hits 85 targets in Iraq and Syria – statement
US combat aircraft hit 85 targets as a result of strikes in Iraq and Syria, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement. The text of the statement is provided by RIA Novosti.
As noted, the strikes were carried out as part of a “response to an attack on a US base in Jordan.” CENTCOM says the strikes targeted Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and affiliated forces. Command posts, intelligence centers, missile and drone storage facilities, and other facilities are mentioned.
The report says that the strikes were carried out, among other things, with the help of bombers, and the planes specially arrived from US territory. CENTCOM says it has used more than 125 precision-guided munitions.
Earlier, White House Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby, speaking to reporters, announced Washington’s decision to respond to the attack on US forces in Jordan. The official said that American President Joe Biden reviewed the proposals on this issue and chose one of the options for further action. However, Kirby did not voice the details of the upcoming actions.
