US Air Force general urges subordinates to prepare for war with China in 2025

US Air Force General Mike Minihan, in a memo to his subordinates, urged to prepare for a possible war with China in 2025, transmits NBC channel. The authenticity of the note has been confirmed.
“I hope I am wrong. My gut tells me we will be fighting in 2025,” he wrote. Minihan believes that with both Taiwan and the United States holding presidential elections in 2024, Washington will be “distracted” and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be able to operate in Taiwan.
He also outlined his training goals, including the creation of a “strengthened, ready, integrated and flexible joint forces maneuver force ready to fight and win near Taiwan. Throughout February, he urged everyone to practice shooting at 7m targets, update their emergency contacts, and make training harder.
The note is addressed to all commanders of air groups in the US Air Force, they are instructed to report by February 28 on all key efforts to prepare for battles with the Chinese army.
“The National Defense Strategy makes it clear that China is the Department’s top concern, and we remain focused on working together with allies and partners to maintain a peaceful, free and open Indo-Pacific,” Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder said.
The situation in Taiwan escalated after the visit of Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to the island in early August 2022. The Chinese Foreign Ministry protested, and China also announced military exercises in Taiwan waters. Later, a delegation of US congressmen and Republican Senator Marsha Blackbear visited the island. The PRC said that such steps violate the “one China” principle. The Taiwanese ministry has also begun to report Chinese army maneuvers around the island.
China considers Taiwan to be its province, so the PRC government opposes any contacts between the island’s administration and countries with which Beijing has diplomatic relations. China has repeatedly noted that it will take “serious measures” to protect the sovereignty of the country and its territorial integrity.
