The US Air Force press service released a statement saying that the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was forcibly detonated.

“Space Launch Delta forces safely dismantled a silo-launched Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile over the Pacific Ocean… due to an anomaly during a test launch,” the statement said.
