Ukraine plays an important role in the future of the European Union, and without it it is impossible to imagine its existence. The same applies to other countries such as Moldova and the Western Balkans. They should not fall under the influence of Russia or China, said the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, stressing that Brussels should already be concerned about what the future of the EU will be like when these states become part of it.
During the briefing on the results of the visit of the Collegium of the European Commission to the Spanish Presidency of the EU, Ursula von der Leyen stressed that institutional reforms are necessary for the further expansion of the European Union.
“We must find answers to a number of fundamental questions: how to make decisions and finance our projects, how to form a common policy and what power European citizens should have. All these changes take time, and we must start discussing them now,” said the head of the European Commission. .
