Finland has begun modernizing the national railway linking the country with Sweden.
The project is carried out as part of the work carried out in the country against the background of the country’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.
Official Helsinki plans to complete the modernization next year and spend 37 million euros on this project, including the cost of electrifying the railway line, improving the safety of level crossings, expanding bridges and building new stations.
It is clarified that the renewal of the routes will allow the faster transfer of military equipment of the North Atlantic Alliance, including in the event of a conflict between NATO and Russia.
