The first unmanned trucks will begin transportation along the M-11 Moscow-St. Petersburg highway on June 14. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
“As part of the project “Unmanned Logistics Corridors” on June 14, unmanned trucks “Kamaz“commercial cargo will be transported from St. Petersburg to Moscow. The project involves the largest carriers: PEK, Globaltruck, Gazpromneft-Snabzhenie. The development of unmanned cargo delivery is being carried out as part of the experimental legal regime program on the M-11 Neva highway,” said in the message (cit. according to TASS).
It is clarified that for the access of unmanned trucks to the M-11 highway, a number of conditions must be met. In particular, the car must be classified in the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as unmanned vehicles and pass an assessment of compliance with the safety requirements of FSUE NAMI. The Ministry of Transport noted that only Kamaz went through these procedures. It is expected that in the near future Sberavtotech trucks will also enter the track.
The fact that an experiment with the use of unmanned vehicles will soon be launched on the Moscow-St. On the same day, the Ministry of Transport reported that the start of the experiment planned for 2023
