Starting from the new academic year, the teaching of the course of Russian history to students of non-historical specialties in higher educational institutions should take place according to an updated scenario.
From the main innovations: firstly, the course will be designed not for 72 hours, as before, but for 144 hours. Secondly, if even this academic year, almost 80 percent of the time, students independently study the material or listen to lectures remotely, then next year most of the lectures will be held in person. Thirdly, if “non-core” students used to take a test in this subject, then next year the knowledge of the material will be assessed by an exam.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the course was created on the basis of the new “Concept for teaching history in universities”, which was developed by experts from the department together with specialists from the Russian Historical Society.
