The Ministry of Education and Science and Rospotrebnadzor sent recommendations to universities on measles prevention. Educational institutions are advised not to allow students and employees with signs of SARS and skin rashes to attend classes. Universities are also instructed to collect data on available measles vaccinations or past illnesses.
“Universities should inform employees and students about the infection and measures to prevent it, the benefits of vaccination, and also consider introducing remote learning when sick are detected,” the Ministry of Education and Science said (quoted by TASS). If the state of health worsens, students and teachers are advised to refrain from visiting the educational organization.
By mid-April, cases of measles have been identified in 44 regions. Rospotrebnadzor argued that local foci of the disease can be stopped and there is no need for systemic restrictions. In the same month, students from the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after M.V. I. M. Gubkin and one of the buildings of the Russian Technological University. In May, Moscow State University switched to distance learning Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cyberneticsspace research and teacher education, last week – Shuvalov building of Moscow State University. In several private clinics in Moscow complained the shortage of measles vaccines.
