United Russia Vyborny offered the government to provide security for schools in small towns

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Security Committee Anatoly Vyborny (United Russia) suggested that the government make it mandatory to protect schools in settlements with a population of up to 100,000 people. According to him, about 24,000 rural schools today are deprived of professional security.

Mr. Vyborny sent an appeal to Deputy Prime Minister, head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko, reports “News”. He asked to revise the government decree on the requirements for anti-terrorist protection of objects of the Ministry of Education.

According to the deputy, the document was amended in 2022, according to which schools located in settlements with a population of up to 100 thousand people are not subject to protection. According to Mr. Vyborny, in such schools the role of security is entrusted to the technical staff. “But it is unfair and wrong when in large cities state schools are guarded to the highest standard, while in townships and small schools it depends on whether the parents have the funds for these purposes,” the deputy told Izvestia. According to Mr. Vyborny, the organization of security should be centralized, with the help and under the supervision of the state.
