United Russia proposed to ban those who escaped from mobilization from working as officials and deputies

State Duma deputy from the Chelyabinsk region Oleg Golikov (United Russia) is developing a bill to limit civil service for Russians who were drafted but left the country. He also proposes to ban them from running for elective office.

“These citizens expressed their attitude towards their native state by “escaping” from partial mobilization abroad. I think that such figures should be limited in the future the right to work in the state authorities of our country, nobody can ignore the sacred duty to defend the Motherland, ”Mr. Golikov wrote in Telegram.

Amendments can be made to the civil service law. It is proposed to provide for a restriction “on civil service for all Russians who left during the period of partial mobilization, but who fell under the draft, as well as their right to be elected to elected positions in municipal and state authorities.”

In Russia, after a partial mobilization, restrictions are being discussed for Russians who have left the country. On December 25, State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced that the State Duma was working on the abolition of preferences for them and on the introduction of an increased tax rate.
