The Tyumen regional branch of the United Russia party nominated the current governor of the Tyumen region Alexander Moor to participate in the election of the head of the region. This decision was unanimously adopted by 174 delegates at the party conference, Kommersant-Ural was told in the department’s press service.
According to the secretary of the regional branch of the party Andrey Artyukhov, the delegates chose from three people proposed by the Tyumen, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets regional branches of the party: Governor Alexander Moor and deputies of the Tyumen Regional Duma Vladimir Pushkarev and Vladimir Fomin became participants in the preliminary vote. The decision will be sent for approval to the Presidium of the General Council of United Russia.
Elections of the governor of the Tyumen region will be held on September 10. Earlier, the Tyumen regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, by secret ballot, nominated Ivan Levchenko, a deputy of the regional Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, to the post of head of the region. In addition to him, Vladimir Piskaikin, head of the regional branch of the Just Russia – For Truth party, announced his intention to participate in the elections. mass media reportedthat Denis Sadovnikov, deputy of the legislative assembly of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug from the Liberal Democratic Party, can also nominate his candidacy.
Previous elections of the governor of the Tyumen region passed in 2018. Then Alexander Moor scored 65.86% – he was supported by 816.2 thousand voters. The second place was taken by the deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma Artem Zaitsev (LDPR) – 12.99% (161.6 thousand votes). Ivan Levchenko (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) followed him with a small margin – 12.83% (159.8 thousand votes). The entire “Tyumen matryoshka” will take part in the new elections, including the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs.
