United Russia held a meeting of the Presidium of the General Council, at which the results of the past presidential elections were discussed. Secretary of the General Council Andrei Turchak said that the party’s contribution to Vladimir Putin’s victory was 41%.

“The turnout of party supporters in the presidential elections was 31.2 million people,” United Russia reported. Also, he recalled, it was United Russia that ensured the collection of 2 million of the 3.5 million signatures collected in support of Mr. Putin’s nomination for a new presidential term.

Deputy Secretary of the Party’s General Council and head of its central executive committee, Alexander Sidyakin, added that if in 2018 there were 31 million people in the mobilization base of United Russia, now there are 33 million. “We were able to realize and confirm the turnout of more than 31 million supporters. They informed people about the methods and days of voting, talked about the message, the “people’s program” of the party. They convinced us of the need to come to the polls. Everyone who is in the mobilization database has given consent to the processing of personal data and to work with us. Working with United Russia supporters yielded results,” said Mr. Sidyakin.

Also at the meeting of the Presidium of the General Council, the dates of preliminary voting on the selection of candidates for the upcoming regional elections in September were announced. The primaries will be held from March 21 to May 26, and participants in the special military operation will receive special preferences. According to Deputy Secretary of the General Council Sergei Perminov, the number of votes cast for such candidates will be increased by the organizing committees by 25% of the result they received.

What consequences will the results of the presidential elections have for their participants and all Russians – in the Kommersant material “Candidate’s Share”.
