“United Russia” is holding actions in support of special operation fighters by November 4

On November 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin will traditionally lay flowers at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky on Red Square, said press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov. It is not yet known whether he has any other events planned. On November 4, in particular, the “Russia” forum-exhibition will open at VDNKh, where on the first day events of the “Knowledge” society will be held with the participation of high-ranking Kremlin and government officials.

On National Unity Day, parliamentary parties will hold patriotic flash mobs, car rallies and charity events in support of military personnel and families of special operation participants. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation traditionally ignores the holiday introduced in 2005 and celebrates its own – the anniversary of the October Revolution.

United Russia is organizing celebrations for National Unity Day throughout the country, a representative of the party in power said. Party activists will hold patriotic flash mobs, festivals, car rallies, and charity events in support of military personnel and families of special operation participants. In particular, at the party’s public support headquarters, opened this year in 28 regions, on the eve of November 4, the “Russia – One Family” campaign started. Within its framework, souvenir sets were collected for large and needy families of mobilized people, volunteers, and military personnel from other regions. All gifts are locally produced, reflecting national flavor and regional traditions.

In the Moscow region, activists and supporters of the ruling party will prepare traditional dishes of national cuisine on National Unity Day. In Bogorodskoye they will be transferred to a military hospital, where special operation soldiers are undergoing rehabilitation; in Lukhovitsy, treats for children will be delivered to social assistance centers. From the Krasnodar Territory, party activists will send almost 200 tons of humanitarian aid to the special operation zone and visit the soldiers being treated in the Novorossiysk military hospital. In Donetsk and a number of other cities of the DPR, military personnel will receive parcels with basic necessities and clothing. Concerts and congratulations to the special operation participants in hospitals will be held in Moscow, Kursk and Kaliningrad regions.

On the occasion of the holiday, the party has been holding the “Russia is a United Family!” campaign for the second year, says Deputy Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, Senator from the LPR Daria Lantratova. Regions collect gift sets and letters of congratulations with words of support for the families of special operation participants and military personnel from other regions, she says: the gifts reflect regional traditions. This year, about 30 regions, including the LPR, will take part in the action, she added.

“United Russia”, “Young Guard” and the “Volunteers of Victory” movement will unfurl a 100-meter Russian flag in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. In Debaltsevo (DPR), according to the party project “Historical Memory”, a flash mob “Strength in Unity” will take place. Its participants will make a flag of the DPR, which will then be transformed into the flag of Russia. United Russia also organizes patriotic flash mobs in the Voronezh, Omsk, Amur and Orenburg regions. Car rallies will be held in Chechnya, Kalmykia, Mari El, Kostroma, Tomsk, Saratov, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk, Arkhangelsk, Oryol and Volgograd regions, Chukotka and Kamchatka. In Bryanka and Lugansk, party activists will plant almost 200 trees.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation traditionally does not celebrate National Unity Day. The communists will hold all festive events on November 7, the 106th anniversary of the October Revolution, the press secretary of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, State Duma deputy Alexander Yushchenko told Vedomosti.

Most regional branches of A Just Russia – For Truth are planning events dedicated to National Unity Day, a representative of the party’s press service told Vedomosti. “The most common format is the participation of representatives of the regional branch of the party in municipal or regional events. In addition, events such as pickets, flower laying, and a car rally are planned,” said a representative of the party’s press service.

The LDPR will hold a festive event on the occasion of National Unity Day. November 4 at the site near the LDPR youth center on the street. Krasnoproletarskaya in Moscow will host a meeting of activists and supporters of the party. Speeches by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky, State Duma deputies and senators, and a cultural and musical program are planned.

Representatives of the New People party did not respond to Vedomosti’s requests.

According to VTsIOM, the importance of celebrating National Unity Day is recognized by 75% of Russians, with 39% stating this with complete confidence. This is the maximum since the beginning of measurements (the holiday was introduced in 2005). The share of those who believe that such holidays are rather unimportant, on the contrary, decreased over the last year by 5 percentage points, amounting to 21% in 2023 (2022 – 26%). The survey was conducted on October 28.
