“United Russia” has decided on candidates for the positions of heads of new regions

The United Russia party has decided on candidates for the positions of heads of new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. They were acting acting governors Denis Pushilin, Leonid Pasechnik, Evgeny Balitsky and Vladimir Saldo. About it informed in his Telegram channel, Secretary of the General Council of the party Andrei Turchak.

“The decision was made by the party’s general council and will be sent to the president,” Turchak wrote.

The secretary of the party general council noted the five-year experience of Pushilin and Pasechnik in leading the people’s republics. “Both, like no one else, are immersed in the problems of their republics, enjoy the authority of the inhabitants. They have already proved by their deeds that they are capable and worthy of leading these regions.” Turchak says. He also pointed to cooperation with Balitsky and Saldo from the first days of the military special operation.

As before reported Vedomosti, the leaders of the new regions will not change after the September elections. The Presidium of the General Council will approve the current acting heads of the subjects as the main candidates of the party for appointment to governorships. MPs will vote for them after the September elections.

Elections in the territory of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will be held on the Single Voting Day – September 10. The United Russia party put forward 2,086 candidates in the lists for elections to local governments in the new regions. Of these, 595 candidates are in the DPR, 800 in the LPR, 319 in the Kherson region, and 372 in the Zaporozhye region. In total, 1,440 mandates of local deputies will be contested there.
