The Asbest City Court left United Russia’s repeated application demanding that candidates from the New People party not be allowed to run for the City Duma elections without consideration due to the missed filing of a claim, Asbest Electoral Commission (Sverdlovsk Region) reported.
Recall, the first lawsuit was also left without consideration, as it was filed with violations. Then the candidate from the New People party, Nikolai Lapin, said that the claims of United Russia to his registration were due to the fact that he submitted information about the place of work to the election commission not with the main package of documents, but a day later. In addition, the Asbestos United Russia party tried to remove the Communist Party of the Russian Federation from the elections through the courts, but after consultations with the party leadership, the claim was withdrawn.
Previously became knownthat the United Russia candidate in constituency No. 3 Sergei Ivanov withdrew from participation in the elections on Tuesday. Mr. Ivanov suggested that several more people would follow him. The Asbestov city TEC did not confirm the information and said that they did not have the relevant documents about the candidates intending to leave the elections.
Elections to the Duma of Asbest will be held on September 11 in 21 single-mandate constituencies. 81 people applied for participation in the elections. As of August 4, candidates from United Russia (20 people), Communist Party of the Russian Federation (21 people), Just Russia (five people), LDPR (two people), New People (two people) and one independent. Candidate registration closes on August 5th.
