United Russia deputies will campaign to vote for improvement objects

Deputies from United Russia will inform voters about the implementation of the federal project to create a comfortable urban environment, two sources in the party told Vedomosti. Federal parliamentarians, for example, began to talk in their accounts about how the project is being implemented in the territories from which they were elected.

From April 15 to May 31, an all-Russian online voting for new improvement facilities will be held, Russians in their cities will be able to determine design projects. Voting takes place on the website za.gorodsreda.ru, you need to log in through the “Gosuslugi”. United Russia, according to the interlocutors of Vedomosti, will inform citizens about the timing of voting.

Yevgeny Revenko, deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, confirmed to Vedomosti that the deputies were recommended to carry out such work. “Moreover, we have a corresponding party project,” the parliamentarian said. “We invite citizens to be more active in choosing the spaces that need to be landscaped, so that it’s not the officials in their stuffy offices who decide which spaces to improve, but the citizens themselves.”

The recommendations were received not only by United Russia “federal level”. In the regions, according to Vedomosti sources, party members should join working groups on the topic of creating a comfortable urban environment and establish interaction with executive authorities.

United Russia should not only inform about the timing of voting on new improvement facilities, but visit the facilities, explaining to citizens that only one will win. The emphasis in informing about improvement projects is proposed to be done on reflecting the role of the president in the implementation of this program and improving the quality of life of Russians, says a source in the party and evidenced by the publications of United Russia in social networks.

At the same time, both acting deputies of any level and candidates from the party should not only post posts about improvement objects and call for voting on them, but also explain: “voting is easy”, communicate with residents personally and set an example. And if we are talking about United Russia, where there is no voting for improvement objects, they can call on residents to support other areas.

The improvement of the territories is one of the points of the United Russia election program, with which the candidates in 2021 went to the Duma elections. The interlocutor in the party explains that a party deputy of one level or another is assigned to each object: “First, people are asked which objects to improve, then the city authorities repair these objects.” The party provides ideological support for this program, says United Russia.

The improvement of the urban environment is part of the “People’s Program” of United Russia and it is natural that the deputies participate in explaining this topic, determining program objects and other events together with citizens, says Konstantin Kostin, head of the Civil Society Development Fund. “Habitat is one of the most important factors in everyday life, so a party that promotes projects gets at least extra attention and at most an electoral base,” he says.

The current project will be built into the United Russia 2023 campaign, says a source in the party: it shows the work with the local agenda. “This is the case when the theory of small deeds resonates with voters and leads to visible improvements,” says Rostislav Turovsky, vice president of the Center for Political Technologies. If it is possible to systematically include United Russia candidates in this process, then they will be perceived as effective politicians, and this is “a sure way to increase the rating.”
