“United Russia” completed the primaries and began counting votes for candidates

“United Russia” has completed the preliminary voting on the selection of candidates for the elections, which will be held on 10 September. 26 heads of regions, deputies of 20 legislative assemblies and 16 city councils of administrative centers will elect in the fall. More than 3 million electors took part in the voting in the primaries, said Sergei Perminov, deputy secretary of the United Russia general council.

This year, voting in the primaries of United Russia took place in electronic format, only in the new territories it was mixed – it was possible to vote online and at regular polling stations. The largest competition for the primaries for the selection of candidates for deputies of legislative assemblies was in the Ulyanovsk region – 14.9 people per seat, and among the city dumas – in Arkhangelsk 9.4 people per seat, Perminov said.

This year, the most powerful hacker attack was organized on the website of the primaries, if compared with previous years, said Vyacheslav Sateev, head of the party’s IT projects. According to him, the attacks were especially strong on voting in new regions – for example, on Sunday, May 28, there was an attack by a Finnish botnet on voting in the Zaporozhye region.

In the DPR, 207,000 residents voted in the primaries, a quarter of them voted online, in the LPR – 160,000 residents, of which 42,000 people voted online. In the Rostov region, 317,000 residents took part in the primaries, in the Arkhangelsk region – 80,000.

From March 3 to March 7, the party launched the primaries in the regions, from March 8 to April 27 there was nomination of candidates, voter registration – from April 17 to May 26. The electronic voting itself took place from May 22 to May 28, and its results will be summed up on May 30. The counting of votes has now begun.
