In Ingushetia, during field work in the museum-reserve, coins of the Golden Horde were found
During field work in one of the towers of the Tumgi architectural complex in the mountainous part of Ingushetia, unique coins of the Golden Horde were found. About it told in the Dzheirakh-Assinsky Museum-Reserve.
The valuable treasure consists of 16 monetary units. It includes 5 copper and 11 silver coins of the Golden Horde dating back to the mid-14th century, to the reigns of Uzbek Khan, Khaji Khan and Toktamysh Khan. All finds were transferred for storage to the Republican Museum of Local Lore named after Tugan Malsagov.
Previously “MK” reportedthat a hoard of Anglo-Saxon and Saxon coins found by two metal detectorists in Essex has been sold at auction for a third of a million pounds. It was claimed that the coins, discovered near Braintree in Essex, were buried in 1066, the year of the battle between the English and Norman armies for the throne of England. The coins were auctioned at Noonans Mayfair in London for £325,560. They were expected to fetch up to £180,000, with the proceeds from the treasure to be divided between the two finders and the landowner.
