In honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, the Volgograd Arena will host a retro-style football match. The teams will arrive at the stadium on Soviet ZIS-8 buses. The referees will also take to the field in stylized uniforms.
On the eve of the retro match in Volgograd on April 25, the ball and the red-white and white-blue kits, traditional for Spartak Moscow and Dynamo Stalingrad, were presented. According to the press service of the regional administration, the ammunition of the players is stylized under the 40s of the last century.
The presentation was attended by legendary football players – famous veterans of Spartak and Rotor Andrey Tikhonov, Dmitry Alenichev, Oleg Veretennikov and Vitaly Abramov.
As Dmitry Alenichev emphasized, there will be no contractual matches. On May 1, everyone is waiting for a tense game, which at one time was between Spartak and Dynamo.
It is planned that the teams will play two halves of 30 minutes. If there is a draw, then the players will take the post-match penalties. After the end of the retro match at 22.00, festive fireworks will thunder in the Central Park of Culture and Culture.
Recall that on May 2, 1943, the players of the Stalingrad Dynamo played against the Moscow Spartak. The match took place 3 months after the completion of the defeat of the Nazi troops near Stalingrad.
