Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, Philippe Lazzarini, issued a statement on the death toll in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“Almost 70% of those killed in the Gaza Strip are women and children,” the UN noted.
The representative of the international organization emphasized that about 3,200 children were killed in the enclave over three weeks, and this cannot be called “collateral damage.”
