Ulyukaev admitted that he gets high from life “among people”

The former head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Alexei Ulyukaev, said that he enjoys life in the status of a “private person”. The ex-minister, released in May 2022 on parole, spoke about everyday life at large in an interview with the Youtube channel Naidi mammoth.
“I finally felt like a private person. I have lived quite a long life and have never been private. I was some kind of a little detached from life, then a big boss, then a convict. And now I am a man among men. It’s an amazing thrill, really. Walk the streets, behave like everyone else,” Mr. Ulyukaev shared his impressions.
The ex-minister said that he tries to spend more time with loved ones. “My parents became very old and sick. My children have grown up and we need to rediscover them. Every time you need to prove your need to relatives, and, perhaps, the need of the world around me, ”admitted Mr. Ulyukaev.
Alexey Ulyukaev became the first federal minister in the history of modern Russia, whom condemned for a criminal offence. As the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ulyukaev received a bribe of $2 million at the office of the Rosneft company. The investigation claimed that the positive assessment of the transaction for the buyout of 50% of the shares of Bashneft by Rosneft was estimated at this amount.
In December 2017, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow sentenced Aleksey Ulyukaev to eight years in a strict regime colony and a fine of 130 million rubles. In April, the Moscow District Court of Tver satisfied former minister’s petition for parole. May 12, 2022 Alexey Ulyukaev came out to freedom.
