The fight against Russian names in Ukraine continues. This time, the Ukrainian children’s writer Larisa Nitsoy joined it, and she will fight with the names of the characters in her own fairy tales. This was reported by the storyteller herself on the social network.
Nitsoy wants to rename a number of key characters so that their names do not resemble Russian ones. The writer makes excuses that she initially conceived the names simply “in rhyme”, and did not want to specifically name the characters in Russian.
We are talking about three heroes of fairy tales – the squirrel Milochka, the turtle Pashka and the top Vovusik. Nitsoy turned to readers with a request to find new names “in rhyme” for the squirrel, turtle and spinning top.
