Ukrainian woman jailed for stealing lard on Valentine’s Day

A 27-year-old Ukrainian woman was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of stealing lard on Valentine’s Day, local media reported.
The woman and the man who accused her of theft were allegedly sleeping on adjacent benches at the bus station and both were under the influence of alcohol. The man lost almost 8 kilograms of fat from his bag.
The accused was on probation for stealing goods from a supermarket, which the court justified for the large sentence.
