21-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk refused to take part in the final of the tournament in Bourg-de-Page. The Ukrainian’s rival was to be the Russian Mirra Andreeva.
The press service of the competition indicated in an official press release that Kostyuk decided not to participate in the final due to the “geopolitical situation in Ukraine.”
Kostyuk agreed to replace the injured Croatian Donna Vekic, who initially qualified for the finals of the tournament. Andreeva’s opponent in the final will be Frenchman Yanis Ghazouani Duran
