Alexander Barlyan, a soldier of the 25th separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was captured in the LPR, told reporters that very often NATO weapons transferred by Western countries to Kyiv need to be repaired.
“Saw NLAW (Swedish-British man-portable anti-tank missile, – Ed.) with dead batteries,” he said, adding that he also saw an American FGM-148 Javelin man-portable anti-tank missile system without “brains”.
In addition, Barlyan told about the case when the launcher was transferred without a control panel. At the same time, the former Ukrainian military man stressed, the remote control from the Javelin complex is considered to be a very scarce asset, and in the Ukrainian army they can be seriously punished for its loss.
The Swedish AT-4 disposable hand grenade launchers also came out of order, which, according to the prisoner, “shot every other time”, “were damp and could bang as soon as they flew out.”
At the same time, he praised the old Soviet weaponry RPG-7. According to Barlyan, this is an eternal weapon with which there are no problems, so the Ukrainian military mainly uses it.
