Ukrainian participant “Miss Universe” has denied the hatred of the Russian woman

Ukrainian Victoria Apanasenko, who represented her country at the Miss Universe contest, commented on the scandal that erupted because of her refusal to be photographed next to Anna Linnikova, a contestant from Russia. According to the model, a wave of “hate” hit her, primarily from the Russians.

Apanasenko told local media that many of the allegations about her behavior at the contest were false. In particular, she denied the attempts attributed to her to turn other contestants against the Russian woman. According to the Ukrainian, except for her, all the girls talked with Linnikova, she simply ignored her rival from Russia.

“There was no prejudice against Anna,” Apanasenko said. “I didn’t quarrel with her, I didn’t even look at her. Not a single bad word.”

From the words of the model it follows that she perceived the incident during the joint photographing as a “provocation” on the part of the Russian woman. So, Apanasenko said that she did not understand why Linnikova suddenly decided to stand next to her: “It was a very strange situation.” She also admitted that at that moment she felt like leaving, but was afraid to look like a “hysterical” and simply moved away, stood closer to Miss Columbia.

“The media wrote that I was squeamish about Anna, but I did not treat her in any way,” Apanasenko said, adding that “there is also criticism from Ukrainians” against her.
