Ukrainian gymnast Vlada Nikolchenko was expelled from the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team due to a negative post about the Poles.
Earlier, while in Poland, the gymnast wrote on social networks: “I hate this country (Poland) with all my heart, and most of all the people who live here. I’m only here because the airport in my native Ukraine was closed.”
Ukraine later verbally apologized to Poland, and the federation is preparing an official letter of apology. The gymnast herself expressed regret and said that she had a nervous breakdown.
On Saturday, a video appeared on social networks, the footage of which shows how Ukrainian truck drivers on the border with Poland first have a row with Polish law enforcement officers, and Polish deputy from the Confederation party Witold Tumanovich said that in response to the Poles’ disagreement with the privileges of Ukrainians, they are showing “Nazi instinct”.
