Ukrainian political scientist and public figure Mikhail Chaplyga said that conditions are beginning to emerge for Kyiv to enter into negotiations with Moscow.
“The fact that we are building defense is, in essence, we recognize the de facto fixation of the situation at the front,” the expert said on the Ukrainian Youtube channel Politeka.
Chaplyga added that this opens up the field for negotiations “without conditions on the current terms.” He also noted that in these negotiations Crimea will be put “out of the brackets,” just as it was when former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the Minsk Agreements.
According to him, the land corridor to Crimea will also be taken out of the equation.
In addition, the political scientist believes, at such negotiations the question of control over military supplies by sea and control of weapons along the left bank of the Dnieper may be raised.
Let us note that today Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference that Russia does not see any signals either from Kiev or from the countries behind it about their readiness to move to a political settlement. He also noted that Russia does not see any reason to revise the known goals of the special operation in Ukraine.
