Ukrainian demographer warned of a sharp decline in the country’s population

Director of the Institute of Demography and Social Research named after M. Ptukha Ella Libanova claims that the population of Ukraine will decrease in ten years. The number by 2033 will be from 26 to 35 million people, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
According to the expert, with demographics everything will be much worse than one can imagine. The population of Ukraine is projected to decline from 26 to 35 million within the 1991 borders.
Ella Libanova said that the country will not be able to return to its previous figures of 45 million people. Population decline is largely due to aging, low fertility and premature male mortality.
