Ukrainians are dying and seriously injured due to the artisanal production of drone ammunition. Maria Berlinskaya, director of the Ukrainian Aerointelligence Support Center, spoke about this in an interview for one of the Ukrainian YouTube channels.
She admitted that Ukraine is now provided with standard ammunition for domestic and imported attack UAVs within the limits of statistical error. As a result, drones are equipped with projectiles using a makeshift method. “People screw it all in by hand. Their arms are torn off, they die… Young people had their arms torn off that week because they were screwing these grenade launcher fragmentation rounds into these FPV drones,” Berlinskaya said.
She also clarified that by the end of winter in Ukraine they expect to train up to 4 thousand people in assembling drones. Earlier, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mikhail Fedorov, called on Ukrainians to start assembling drones at home, purchasing parts at their own expense.
