The Ukrainian national team refused to compete at the 2024 World Beach Soccer Championship in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the participation of athletes from Belarus in the competition. This was reported by the Ukrainian Beach Soccer Association (UPFU).
APFU representatives appealed to the World Beach Soccer Organization (BSWW) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) after the Belarusian national team qualified for the World Cup in Dubai. APFU asked to remove the Belarusian team from performances, since “Belarus is an accomplice in armed aggression against Ukraine.” However, APFU’s request was denied.

The World Beach Soccer Championship will be held from 15 to 25 February 2024 in the UAE – Dubai. Russian national teams and clubs are now suspended from participation in international competitions by FIFA and UEFA.
