Ukraine will send a “landing party” of deputies to the United States

The Ukrainian Servant of the People party will send a group of Verkhovna Rada deputies to the United States, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua.
Reportedly, the main goal of the “landing party” of Ukrainian parliamentarians will be “to convince American congressmen of the need to continue supporting Ukraine.”
As representatives of the Servant of the People party said, this is the “main issue of the trip”, which will take place at the end of the week.
Earlier it was reported that US President Joe Biden’s request to allocate another package of military assistance to Ukraine will be considered in the Senate on December 4. As noted, the request also included funds to assist Israel and other “national security” purposes. Speaker of the US House of Representatives Michael Johnson expressed the opinion that the US Congress will approve aid to Ukraine by Christmas. At the same time, he said, assistance to Israel is currently the top priority for the United States, and assistance to Ukraine is “another priority.”
At the same time, the head of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, said that Ukraine has very little chance of receiving a new aid package from the United States before the end of 2023. Turner noted that this is hampered by the White House policy regarding the southern border of the United States, which remains under threat. The Hill notes that a growing number of Republican Party members in the House of Representatives oppose approval of increased aid to Kyiv.
Earlier, the US administration asked Congress to allocate more than $105 billion to support Ukraine and Israel. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives has so far refused to consider this request jointly, proposing that aid to Ukraine and some other items be separated for separate discussion.
The Pentagon reported that restrictions on arms supplies to the Kyiv regime have already begun. Earlier, US President Joe Biden signed a new temporary budget until January-February. The document does not provide for the allocation of assistance to Ukraine and Israel.
