Ukraine will receive only about half of the $45 billion allocated by the United States

Ukraine will receive only about half of the $45 billion allocated by the Americans, said US Ambassador to Ukraine Oksana Markarova.

In 2023, the US budget will be $1.7 trillion. It provides for the allocation of $858 billion for US defense needs and $45 billion for military assistance to Ukraine and NATO allies.

Thus, the law on additional security for Ukraine included in the US budget provides:

– $13.37 billion in economic assistance;

– $4.92 billion in humanitarian aid (half of which will be received by the US Ministry of Health to help Ukrainian refugees);

– $28.4 billion in military aid.

In turn, military assistance consists of:

– $ 9 billion to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with everything necessary – from equipment to intelligence;

– $11.88 billion to replace weapons already transferred to Ukraine in the US arsenals;

– $7 billion – for the US European Command.

Another six million dollars will go to the activities of the US Department of Defense Inspector General, who by law will be required to report to Congress on the money used.

Also in the budget there is also a clause on the allocation of funds to Ukraine for “preparation and response to potential nuclear and radiological incidents.”
