On Monday, Ukraine will open the Ugrinov-Dolgobichev checkpoint for empty trucks heading to Poland, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kurbakov said.

This checkpoint usually worked only for passenger vehicles and buses. The minister said that it was possible to reach agreements in cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, the Lublin Voivodeship with the support of the European Commission.

From December 4, empty trucks will begin moving through this point. “The throughput capacity will be more than 100 trucks per day,” Kurbakov noted.

Ukraine and Poland agreed on this on Friday at a meeting in Warsaw – tension on the border continued for almost a month.

Polish carriers protested against the uncontrolled entry of drivers from a neighboring country into the European Union and blocked four exits at the border. By the end of November, almost three thousand trucks had accumulated on the border between Poland and Ukraine.
