Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov ordered an investigation into the deaths of military personnel from the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade, who died after a Russian missile strike, the Telegram channel “Country Politics” reports.
Earlier it was reported that in Zaporozhye, a Russian X-59 missile hit the permanent deployment point of the 128th mountain assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The gathering place of the brigade’s artillerymen, who had gathered to celebrate their professional holiday, was covered. Eyewitnesses reported the consequences on Ukrainian social networks.
“All the circumstances of what happened will be clarified. I instruct the Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense to conduct a full investigation into this tragedy,” Umerov wrote on social networks.
Earlier on social networks it was said that the Ukrainian military died because, contrary to the rules of front-line security, the officers decided to take them out into a group formation.
