Ukraine suspended its WTO complaint against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia

Ukraine has suspended its complaints against Poland, Slovakia and Hungary at the World Trade Organization (WTO) and is working on a “comprehensive solution” to the dispute. About it reported Russian service of Polish Radio.

“We see this issue being resolved in the coming weeks and months. <…> Therefore, while we are looking for a practical solution, our disputes in the WTO are suspended for today,” the editors quote Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka.

On October 3, Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Talus announced that inspections of the transit of Ukrainian grain would be carried out in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda.

“Grain will continue to transit through Poland and, as before, will be properly protected. Thus, there is absolutely no threat to the Polish market,” Telyus emphasized.

On September 15, the European Commission (EC) lifted restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain to Eastern European countries. After this Poland announced about extending the ban. Hungary and Slovakia also disagreed with the EC decision. On September 18, Ukraine filed claims with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against countries that renewed the embargo on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
