The Ukrainian Armed Forces commented on the postponement of the date of receipt of Danish F-16s

Ukraine has not received official information about the postponement of the transfer of Danish F-16 fighters to Kyiv, said Yuri Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Danish newspaper Berlingske reported that the first six Danish F-16 fighters will be transferred to Ukraine no earlier than the second quarter of this year. The publication quotes the words of a representative of the Danish Ministry of Defense. At the same time, last summer, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen already announced plans to transfer 19 F-1 fighters to Ukraine. According to her, the aircraft could be delivered as early as early 2024.

According to Ignat, this information is not on the website of the Danish Ministry of Defense, and the newspaper refers to its own sources.

“This is immediately picked up and becomes mainstream in our media… Western media very often surprise us with some statements citing their sources. There are official statements, we will adhere to them,” said a representative of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, adding that in Ukraine I am waiting for planes in the spring.

Berlingske reports in its publication that some conditions for the combat use of the F-16 by Ukraine have not yet been met. In addition, the training of Ukrainian pilots in Denmark has not been completed, and their training schedule depends on factors such as supply and weather conditions. It is also noted that in order to transfer aircraft to Ukraine, it is also necessary to prepare ground technical staff, establish supply chains for ammunition and spare parts, prepare airfields, etc., which will take time to resolve.

Russian leaders have repeatedly stated that supplies of Western weapons will not help the Kyiv regime and will only prolong the duration of the conflict. It was also noted that all delivered weapon systems would become legitimate targets for the Russian military. Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces had no results. According to him, Russia is moving towards achieving its goals in the special operation, and all tasks will be completed.
