Ukraine plans to raise fees for pumping through the Druzhba oil pipeline

How informs Bloomberg, the Ukrainian authorities announced an increase in 2023 fees for the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Eastern Europe.
A letter with a corresponding warning, signed by Vladimir Tsependa, director general of the Ukrainian operator Ukrtransnafta, has already been sent to Russia’s Transneft.
“The ongoing destruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has led to a significant shortage of electricity, an increase in its cost, a shortage of fuel, spare parts, as well as an increase in the cost of organizing safe working conditions for personnel and protecting facilities,” the document says as a rationale for the increase in tariffs.
Thus, the operator plans to increase the cost of crude oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia by €2.10 per ton to €13.60 from January 1, 2023.
