Moscow does not see Kyiv’s readiness for substantive peace talks, but only “ridiculous” statements, said Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.
In an interview with Jackson Hinkle on The Dive podcast, he stated that Ukraine has shown absolutely no sign of taking a responsible stance in the peace talks, and Kyiv’s demands cannot be considered in serious negotiations.
“We have not yet come to this,” Polyansky said, noting that the Ukrainian authorities are limited to political statements about the theoretical possibility of negotiations with Moscow.
According to Polyansky, one of the conditions for Kyiv to start negotiations is the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Donbass and Crimea. “It’s just ridiculous,” the diplomat said.
In his opinion, while Ukraine is not a contractual partner, in connection with which the special military operation will be continued.
