The armed forces of Ukraine are making attempts to break through the defenses on the flanks of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and prevent the Russian military from continuing the offensive. This was announced by the acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
“The enemy is taking exhaustive measures in order to break through our defenses (Artemovsk) and prevent our next offensive actions,” said Denis Pushilin (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to him, weather conditions complicate the situation, since now Ukraine can transfer reserves across the field, and not just along the roads (during the capture of the city, the roads that supplied the Ukrainian group of troops in the city were cut).
Denis Pushilin assured that the Russian military “take all measures” to prevent a breakthrough and minimize the shelling of Bakhmut.
June 7, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine informedthat the armed forces of Ukraine went under Bakhmut from defense to offensive. On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the unsuccessful offensive of Ukraine in the Bakhmut direction.
The battles for Artemovsk have been going on since the summer of 2022. At the end of May of this year, the founder of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the capture of the city. Then the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on taking the city under control.
