Ukraine in 2022 received generators for the total capacity of the nuclear power unit

Ukrainian media reported, citing the national customs service, that over 350,000 power generators were imported into the country last year. However, their total capacity is equal to the capacity of only one NPP power unit. 80% of imported generators are gasoline, with a power of up to 7.5 kW, they are suitable for power supply mainly for private houses and small institutions.
“For 11 months of 2022, 354,000 generators worth $355 million were imported to Ukraine. If we multiply the number of generators by the minimum power in the sector and sum it up, we get more than 1 GW, which is equal to one power unit of the Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant,” the customs officials quoted the media as saying.
Earlier it was reported that experts point to the impossibility of solving the issue of the country’s energy security at the expense of generating capacities of this type.
