Ukraine demands that Russian Olympic participants abandon the Friendship Games
A new requirement for Russian athletes who want to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris was put forward by the acting Minister of Sports of Ukraine Matvey Bedny.
Athletes from Russia and Belarus, in his opinion, must sign a document that they will not take part in the Friendship Games in order to participate in the Olympics. The Ukrainian sports official is quoted by Le Monde.
The Olympic Games start in Paris at the end of July. The World Friendship Games are planned to be held in the second half of September in Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
