Ukraine must stop using fonts of Russian origin. This was stated by the acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of the country, Rostislav Karandeev, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.
According to Karandeev, Ukraine has its own symbols of sovereignty and independence, identifying history, culture, language and graphic expression of the language. The country must stop using the Izhitsa font and its derivatives in internal documents.
It was proposed to replace the Russian font with the designer font “Volya”, which was developed by Ukrainian designer Marcela Mozhina.
