Ukraine appoints new commander of National Guard

In Ukraine, a new commander of the National Guard was appointed, he became the hero of Ukraine, Colonel Alexander Pivnenko, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Ukrainian media.
The corresponding decision on the appointment was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, while in Lviv.
The report says he previously served as commander of the 3rd operational brigade of the National Guard, which took part in the battles for Artemovsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut).
Previously, the post of commander of the National Guard of Ukraine was occupied by Yuriy Lebed, who has worked since January 2022.
