Ukraine does not intend to extend the agreement on gas transit from the Russian Federation, which expires at the end of 2024, reports the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua, citing the words of the head of Naftogaz, Alexei Chernyshov.

The head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko, previously said that there is little chance of reaching an agreement with Russia on extending the gas transit agreement in 2024.
The transit contract between the parties was signed at the end of 2019 for a period of five years. According to the agreements, Gazprom guaranteed the pumping of 65 billion cubic meters of gas in the first year and 40 billion in the next four years, that is, until the end of 2024.
