Ukraine agreed with Croatia on the use of Croatian ports on the Danube and in the Adriatic Sea for the export of Ukrainian grain. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba.
“We agreed on the possibility of using Croatian ports on the Danube and in the Adriatic Sea for the transportation of Ukrainian grain. Now we will work to lay the most efficient routes to these ports and make the most of this opportunity,” Kuleba said. His words are given in a message on the website of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
It is specified that Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlich-Radman arrived in Ukraine on a visit. During the meeting with Kuleba, the ministers discussed both Ukrainian food exports and military assistance to the republic. Kuleba did not comment in detail on the issues with weapons, noting only that there are specific agreements, and Croatia’s assistance is “very solid.” It is specified that Croatia supported Zelensky’s “peace formula”.
Russia left the grain initiative, an agreement on which was signed on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine, on July 17. The Kremlin explained this by the failure to fulfill the second part of the agreement, which concerns, among other things, the lifting of restrictions on the supply of Russian products. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the deal could be resumed if Russia’s requirements were met.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kyiv plans to continue the Black Sea initiative without Russia. July 21 he discussed the possibility of extending the grain agreement with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
